Group Posting Guidelines
This group is for discussion of Web Development for iPhone and compatible mobile browsers.  It is also the group for iUI user support.

The following types of posts will be ACCEPTED:
  1. Questions about how to get started on iPhone web development or mobile web development in general.
  2. General questions about iUI.
  3. Support questions about stable or beta versions of iUI.
  4. General questions about JavaScript-based web frameworks for iPhone, WebKit, etc.  (Detailed questions about these frameworks should go to the appropriate support forum for the specific framework.)
  5. General questions about integrated web-based applications with native frameworks.  This includes subjects like Cocoa Touch and PhoneGap.  (Detailed questions about these frameworks should go to the appropriate forum.)
  6. Announcements about employment and consulting opportunities for iPhone WEB developers.  Such posts should be clearly labelled with [JOB] in the subject line and should request that all responses be sent directly to the poster, not to the group.
Conversations about the development of iUI itself should occur on the iui-developers group, but because there is some overlap between end-user support and development, some discussion of iUI development will occur in the iPhoneWebDev group, as well.

The following types of posts will be REJECTED:

  1. Questions about developing in Cocoa using the iPhone SDK (Apple's Objective-C programming environment)  Questions about using web technology within the Cocoa SDK are acceptable as this is an area of overlap.  For questions that are purely about SDK development, please submit them to the iPhone SDK Development Group
  2. General iPhone questions (there are plenty of other forums for those topics)
  3. "Drive-by" promotion.  Even if the post  is iPhone-related or even iPhone WebApp related, if the post is just trying to drive traffic to your site, it will be rejected.  If you are a part of this community and you are honestly looking for feedback or have something interesting to share, the post will be allowed.
  4. Job postings for iPhone SDK Developers.  Posts for iPhone Web Developers are accepted, but should be preceded with a [JOB] label in the subject line.
  5. Spam

After rejecting yet another message with an iPhone SDK question, I
thought I'd create a simple page of Posting Guidelines (containing the
link to the iPhoneSDK Development group). It reflects my policy as
(apparently) the only active moderator on the group. It is based upon
prior feedback and discussion on this list and I believe reflects a
