Would this approach cause any problems when the app is run on other
devices? Also, one of the points in having "separate apps" was the
ability to bookmark individual parts and start them - rather than
starting the main app every time. If I want to just open the Library
App portion - I'd be able to. If we do it the "frag-way" we will loose

I was actually intrigued by the second example on this page (Ajax
Link). I see that you are storing that ajax panel (minus the toolbar)
in a file called "fragPanel.frag" thus bringing that separate section
into the framework.

Originally, I was planning on separating each section of this site
into separate PHP pages and linking them from my main springboard

off another project (Mobile Store)

Thank you all for the insights. For now, since most of the pages
linked from the homepage will be self-contained iUI-based sites, I'll
probably start out by adding a static "back" button on the main
section of each sub page.

Its possible - I saw a, in my eyes, good but static implementation. If your
environment is very static its easy to implement - if its big you need to
invest more time.

I would implement it as a plugin - but my plate is rather full right now.

Just thinking out loud here. I'm not a developer but would it be possible to
create some sort of breadcrumb navigation plug-in? Perhaps using a single
xml file and have it appear in a modal window or something? Just curious.

Sounds like a good option! I guess we could also modify the javascript
a bit so that the first back button is always a present button that
links to the "previous" main page... Even if we have to do these back
buttons manually for the "sub-apps", I think it would be less work and
still worth it to break everything into separate pieces, Scott.

You could probably use most of the code you have now in a native app,
but apple will reject it because it basically does what safari does.
You will need to add features that can't be done in safari. location,
camera etc. come to mind. But there are other sdk's to.

Me too, cause this sitemap could be a pretty good solution in fact,
even more for external files.
example :
[link] would access directly to
the about page, since its content is in the index, so the id is set
and exists.
[link] will redirect to #_home

Yes. Use target="_webapp"
There's an example, here:

That's a little trickier. You'll have to disable the JavaScript (by not
including iui.js, perhaps) and adjust the HTML and CSS so that back
button links to the previous page. Or something like that...
