HUG Philosophies
As a matter of courtesy - the author of a songsheet should, if they so desire, have the ultimate ‘control’ over the song...arrangement, rhythm, timing, key, etc. This is not to say that other members cannot suggest changes/additions/etc, however, the final say should belong to the original author of the songsheet. Any group discussions regarding changes should ensure the original author is present at, or informed of, the discussion and decisions.
With a view to clarity (particularly for new members) – there should be only one (the latest) version of each songsheet on the website. Members are welcome to create alternate versions for their private use and, if they wish to share these with the group, invite other members via a post to request a copy to be emailed to them. If the group decides to change to an altered songsheet (with the agreement of the original author) then it should replace the original on the website.
In the interests of inclusivity - any uker from anywhere, is welcome to join HUG at any time or at any activity or event. HUG must never feel or appear exclusive.
