I just ran my URL through Copyscape and the only matches it found were
stuff I have in my RSS parser. Seems very normal to me.

The actual web site content is 100% unique.

I've been using this same robots.txt on about 5 web sites, all with
very high ranks on big keywords and never had any trouble.

But, I have incorporated your suggestion and uploaded a new
robots.txt.

Links are nto followed from here. Just the text content is indexed.

Your robots.txt file is like this:

User-agent: *
Allow: /
Sitemap: [link]

It should be:

User-agent: *
Disallow:

Sitemap: [link]

Note that techincally Allow: / is the same as Disallow: except that

How often Resubmit sitemap? Will new sitemap fix errors?

How come no URLs from my site map are included in Google's Index?

My web site was using noindex/nofollow for a few days while setting it
up. Now it's out of dev status and I've uploaded a site map but it
won't display my pages.

Your sitemap is not valid

Go here [link] and enter it's URL

You would be better off using GSiteCrawler to make a properly
formatted sitemap, go here to find out all about it & download
[link]

Will implementing the 301 redirects on the remaining '40' URL's help,
even though they aren't indexed ?

I'm a little concerned that there might some sort of 'duplicate'
content problem between the sites because of their similarity.

Hi Kark K,

The important thing to remember is that when you change URL's
the best practice is to 301 redirect the old URL's to the new.

Otherwise the Old URLs will return 404's in the search results,
Will disappear from the index and all value of those pages will be
lost.

if you hurry you can still fix this, Just implement the 301 redirects.

The site once had over 300 Indexed pages to my site from Google.

The site had some pretty strong links coming in, I made the mistake of
'redesigning' the site for easier use. Almost all of my pages URL's
changed because of my change of the permalink structure. I figured
Google would pick this up from my Sitemap... OOOPS.

Hmm, I can access yor Sitemap at the link you provided
with a good HTTP status 200 OK.

So it looks like the Sitemap is being generated.

I'm not sure what gen_py is saying it can't read it. Does the Sitemap
actually get created on the same server as your web site?

That would depend on how your hosting provider has Python
