Subject: google indexed 0 urls from my sitemap
hey,
my website is actually a search engine which has no links except these
kind of links:
http://www.mysite.com/search.php?searchquery=ProductToSearch.

i've uploaded a sitemap file containing 514 links in the above style
(e.g:"http://......./search.php?searchquery=HowToFly")

and google didn't index any of them, and this is what it says on my
webmaster tools page:

"Total URLs: 514
Indexed URLs: 0"

is this happening because all the links are actually one php file with
a different search param ?
or could it be for another reason ?

Other than the fact relating to "why are you expecting a search engine
to index the content of another search engine" (that's not likely to
happen) without knowing your URL there is little anyone can do for
you.

Regards
JV

but i DID give him all the possible urls that would yield valid search
results.
the only problem that i think google bot has is that all the urls are
pointing to the same php file, only with different GET parameters each
time ..
so i still haven't figured out the problem ..

Hi and welcome to the groups!

Keep in mind that our Webmaster Guidelines mention "Use robots.txt to
prevent crawling of search results pages or other auto-generated pages
that don't add much value for users coming from search engines." You
can find them at http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769

With that in mind, I would recommend not including search results
pages in your Sitemap file.

Hope it helps!
John
