Subject: Weebly and Sitemaps
Hi
I have designed my website with Weebly. I am having a hard time
creating a sitemap with it. I have set www.valleyquepasa.com/sitemap.html
up but I am not sure how to put an xml on there or why it doesn't pick
up an html. Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.

Your sitemap.htnl is a web page, not a file in the proper format that
can be submitted to Google as a sitemap.

The proper format is plain text (a list of fully qualified urls, one
per line, for all yoru pages)  or xml (in the format explained at
sitemap.org). You create it manually using Notepad if you have a
smallish site or using a sitemap geenrator program or a web tool for
that.

THat fie is useless .

It's useless as an html sitemap - visitors can't make any use of it,
can they?

It's useless as a sitemap for robots as well.

I said use Notepad to create the file - and it should be called
sitemap.txt .
Upload the file to your website using an FTP program. You cnanot use
whatever you used to build the site.

Your weebly hting must have a web address, use and password to sign
into the webhosting, rigth? The same thing you will provide to an ftp
propgram.
