Subject: Do I need to resubmit my site after adding a sitemap?
Hi,

Google only was indexing my home page (Yahoo indexes many). I added a
sitemap and I submitted it but google still only indexes the first page
(and my help request in this group!).

I would rather have other pages from my site indexed than the problems
I have with my site! Any help with that :)

Also, do I need to resubmit my site to google after I submitted the
sitemap?

Thanks

Hi bibi

Google has different indexing priorities :-).

There are two major influences on crawling and indexing at Google:
1. the positive value of the links to your pages
2. the negative value of the links on your pages ("unwanted" links)

In general, the most common problem is just plain not enough positive
value from the links to your pages. You need to get more people to link
to your pages (without you having to link back, etc.). The normal way
to do that is to provide stellar content - give them something that all
visitors will want to tell other people about! And don't be afraid to
seed relevant communities with information about your site to get
started - be proud of your site! If you aren't 110% certain that you're
providing really good, unique value then work more on your content
until you are.
