Subject: Destination Directions
I have an address where the default destination takes drivers over a
large railroad crossing, I would prefer to have them avoid that, what
(if any is the process for altering the default route a user is
displayed when using the directions to/from feature?

So I guess the question is how to I create a custom set of directions?
Is this even possible?

here is a current link to the map

Everything is possible!

You just need to add an internmediate point, like:
saddr=29.377201,-98.48093+to:2617+Roosevelt+Avenue,+78214
That one works fine if you come from the general direction of Austin.

But since you don't know where they are coming from, that could be a
silly detour, so you need to calculate the approximate bearing that
they are coming from and have a few different intermediate points that
can be added to the route depending on that.

That makes sense, I actually have a road that will work for all
directions! My next questions is how do I implement the intermediate
point?

I showed it to you in my previous post, only I mistyped one letter:
daddr=29.377201,-98.48093+to:2617+Roosevelt+Avenue,+78214
