Frankie Watts, our dynamic centre-half at Valleys, &lt;br&gt; played with coke-bottle glasses all his career. We used to tease him &lt;br&gt; on rainy day matches about fitting windscreen wipers.

  C.E.Chuter was a pupil at the Fortitude Valley State School, probably &lt;br&gt; around the beginning of the last century. When the push came for an &lt;br&gt; amalgamation of all the separate suburban councils into a Greater &lt;br&gt; Brisbane City Council in 1925, our lad had so much input as Chief &lt;br&gt; Clerk of the Home Secretary, that it became known as &#39;Chuter`s Bill&#39;.

  Nope, Windmell`s Hotel, the &#39;Stranger`s Home&#39;, appears to be on the &lt;br&gt; corner of New Farm Rd. and Queens St., Fortitude Valley. He was &lt;br&gt; selling it in 1854 after running it for three years. (aka Ann and &lt;br&gt; Brunswick Sts.)

  Hi, Terry, you may have cracked the code here with the info about &lt;br&gt; McLachlan St. being Windmell. Charles Windmell kept the only hotel in &lt;br&gt; the Valley in the 1850s. His address was also given as Rosebank &lt;br&gt; Cottage, next to the New Bridge, Fortitude Valley. So, along with &lt;br&gt; Ray`s clue about Bridge Street, we may have a solution. At least till
