A snippet from Major-General Spencer Brown covering the period
1877-1925.
‘Early German Station (later Nundah)
Mr. Christopher Hurworth, who in my time, was head of the Fortitude
Valley School, was trained in England to the teaching profession and
came to Australia in 1874. His first appointment here was German
Station National School.’ Etc., Etc.
(no mention of when he came to FV)
He also makes no mention of his war service in WW1, but he had to have
met our own Major-General Forsyth. After all, how many Major-Generals
can an army hold?
