Hi folks

You'd be aware that there is a difference of opinion about the start
date of the FVSS. I have been researching this for some time and
established that the school actually began on 4 March 1861, in very
humble surroundings, not 1 October 1861 as Education Queensland and
Queensland State Archives state on their websites. I thought it
warranted a few lines and so I wrote to the Director-General on 19
January and am pleased to say that today (18 February 2009), I
received a letter from Dr Richard Eden, Assistant Director-General
acknowledging my research and a corrected date. I understand that EQ
and QSA's website will be modified shortly.
