Subject: problem trying to start spepd
Hi all,
After installing apache spep (version 0.5) I am getting an error
trying to run it.
I am using this command:
/usr/local/sbin/spepd -f /usr/local/etc/spep/spep.conf -l /var/log/
spepd.log

and getting this error:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::bad_any_cast'
  what():  boost::bad_any_cast: failed conversion using
boost::any_cast
Aborted

I am on CentOS 5 and have installed all the prerequisites mentioned
here:
http://esoeproject.org/confluence/display/eu/Apache+SPEP+Installation...
I also noticed that this guide is for version 0.4, so maybe there is a
problem since I am trying to run 0.5.
Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Jim,

This error is coming from spepd assuming (incorrectly) that the -p parameter
is mandatory.
I have logged an issue for this, and will fix it in the very near future
(tomorrow, hopefully!) and roll a minor version release:
http://esoeproject.org/jira/browse/SPEPC-13

As a workaround meanwhile, try specifying:
-p /var/tmp/spepd.pid
or similar.

Thanks,
Shaun
