You're correct there is a number of differences in process which are as
yet not very widely documented (we're all busy with other professional
work in the last few months). Feel free to have a crack at it if you
like, starting point is esoedeployer.

No more or less then you did before actually, a server, a mysql db, Java
6 and some LDAP. There are a number of externalized plugins you'll need
to get your head around as well.
