Hi All,
After a long period of quiet, mostly due to the shifted priorities of our
development team, I'm glad to announce that the ESOE Project is back in
active development. We have some updates:
New site, new source control
In preparation for the move to Git source control, we migrated the ESOE
Project site to Redmine (http://redmine.org) back in April. We've now moved
to Git and the project is hosted on GitHub at
http://github.com/esoeproject/esoeproject/tree/master
Releases
We have made new SPEP releases with some improvements, and we will be
heavily testing this codebase in the lead up to the much-awaited 1.0 release
in the near future:
Java SPEP 0.9.5
The binary release is available from the Files tab on the project page, and
the source release is available from the Java-SPEP-0.9.5 tag. Most of the
improvements are under the hood, enabling better future support for SSO
bindings other than POST.
Apache SPEP 0.7
Source tarballs are available from the Files tab on the project page.
Includes support for automatic metadata key changeover, and improvements to
the logging code.
The Road to 1.0
ESOE 0.9.5 has been tagged, as a milestone and as a base for the work
towards 1.0. This version isn't quite ready for general use so no release
distribution has been packaged.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be forming a roadmap to version 1.0. The
majority of it will be bug fixes. Keep an eye on the issue tracker for
updates.
Regards,
Shaun Mangelsdorf
