We've been using esoe for several months now in a production
environment (and it is working very well!) and I just wanted to check
the status of the next release of ESOE and if there is anything that I
could do to speed up the process.
I guess a good question would be how to install and setup the ESOE
that is in the trunk (or tags/0.9) as I understand there are several
differences (such as no more esoestartup).
I was going to grab the latest and try it out on a test VM and
hopefully then I could provide some helpful feedback but I'm not sure
what all I need to get it working :)

Glad to hear it is working well.

You're correct there is a number of differences in process which are as yet not very widely documented (we're all busy with other professional work in the last few months). Feel free to have a crack at it if you like, starting point is esoedeployer.

No more or less then you did before actually, a server, a mysql db, Java 6 and some LDAP. There are a number of externalized plugins you'll need to get your head around as well.
Enjoy!.
