Subject: Status of Apache SPEP for Mac OS X

Hi

I was wondering what is the current status of Apache SPEP for Mac OS X Server on 64 bit Intel or PowerPC.  I understand it was being upgraded to use Xerces 3.0 to be 64 bit compatible.

BTW, I am having trouble connecting to http://esoeproject.org

Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

Apache/2.2.10 (Red Hat) Server at esoeproject.org Port 80

Regards

Tim

Subject: Re: [esoe-dev] Status of Apache SPEP for Mac OS X

Hi Tim,

The site is back up, I restarted to correct a config error and it didn't
come up cleanly for some reason.

The status of the SPEP code update is that it's in progress currently. It
was delayed due to workload constraints, but is now back in active
development. I've completed a large number of changes, including the upgrade
of XML bindings, and will be testing it very soon on all our supported
platforms to ensure compatibility.

After these changes are made, to bring in Mac OS X support, we will need to
reevaluate the feasibility of supporting universal binary builds now that
Xerces 3.0 is out. It could be trivial, but there may be unforeseen
problems.

Regards,
Shaun
