Sad News...

Last Sunday, Keith Brown of Echuca had a massive stroke, and I have just learned tonight that he passed away peacefully last night.
Keith, with wife Margaret, were avid and prolific mineral collectors. Anyone dropping in at their farm were astonished at the amount of material in cases, avacado boxes, buckets and more in their house, sheds, garage and dairy. They were like grandparents to our kids, and we spent many weekends enjoying their company.

New Camera...

I picked up a new camera today. The last one (Sony 7.2 Mp) has taken
over 4,700 shots in the last 18 months or so.

The new one is a Sony W230. 12.1 Mp with more options for white
balance (3 fluoro settings) and still with a Zeiss lens (the 10 Mp
current model has a Sony lens).

Rockvale is about 35km NE of Armidale. There is no town, it is just a
locality. I'll dig out my notes and map and send you a grid ref.
I have not seen any of the specimens labelled Barraba but they probably are
from Rockvale as I am not aware of any other location in that region that
produced good quality sphalerite-arsenopyrite specimens. I hasten to add
