This actually works on one level--they're cynical/worldly/new world, the other factions are traditional/duty bound/old world. I can live with that, but not with a random cast of jet-setting guards hailing variously (by their accents) from Cornwall ("arr"), Linconshire ("eee bah gum"), and Silicon Valley ("eeww").
