See:-

It seems that the game is rather buggy anyway, so a few weeks latency
on purchase should "clear the air" for a more sensible
purchase/purchase-source decision.

Hmm... I bought on Steam with the bonus DLC and thought the process
and interface was pretty slick.  Maybe because I already had a Bioware
user id from NWN.  Input the two codes in your Bioware profile.  Alt-
tabbed back to DA.  Clicked refresh and downloading started.  Even was
able to go back to playing the game while the DLC was downloaded and
was notified when the DLC was available.  I guess I just got lucky.

I bought the full package with all the bonus stuff via Steam and got all
of the DLC content downloaded with no problems, but I can see where it
could be an issue for some people.  I know the hoops we jumped through
were all about keeping the DLC out of the hands of pirates, but as
always that was pointless because the DLC stuff was also on the torrent
sites before I got the copy I paid for.

I also understand that Steam really has nothing to do with the DLC.
Steam is just distributing the game... the DLC is strictly a BioWare/EA
thing.  But still, I understand some user's frustrations...
