The RE games have always been about having low ammo and trying to use
what you have. It's not like a normal FPS where you get 400 bullets for
your super high power rifle in the first 5 min of game play. Read the
manual. It gives a lot of useful tips about how to take down the baddies.
The way I do it is I shoot them in the legs, which causes them to lean
down, then I get as close as I can and I get a prompt to hit them using
a KB key. This works great when you're first starting the game and
haven't upgraded your weapons yet. I have upgraded my shotgun to the
point where one shot will knock the SOB's back about 5 feet and kill them.
As far as your great looking, very handy partner, she has two commands,
Attack or Cover. Pretty simple. To switch in game all you have to do in
use the arrow keys. She's the best AI Buddie I've ever had in a game.
She will hand you the right ammo for the guns you're carrying when she
finds it, she will find stuff you don't see (which is very handy) and
she'll heal you if she has healing spray, herbs in her inventory. I have
her carry the healing stuff so when I'm in trouble I don't have to try
and heal myself. This works very well when I get over run, which happens
a lot in the game.
RE5 is one of the best games I've played in years. I really have to
think about what I'm doing, and the game looks fantastic, and is a lot
of fun to play. There's lots of things to find, which I enjoy.
