A great line in the (short) article:

"So feel free to grouse all you want, but unless Activision replaces the FPS
gameplay with first-person putting puppies into a wood chipper and renames
it Osama bin Laden Pushes Jesus Christ Down a Flight of Stairs Made of Baby
Skulls, we're not sure there's any amount of controversy that's going to
slow Modern Warfare 2 down."

What's with all the hype over this game?  Isn't it just another FPS?

I think becuase the first MW had a good plot and was even a little daring in
places.  It was a high quality product and they are few and far between in
the FPS market.

It'd be interesting to see how well the PC "boycott" of this title
went. I know one of my buddies pretty much lived in the multiplayer of
the original Modern Warfare -like over 1500 hours logged in XFire. His
whole crew of 1000 hour mental patients vowed not to buy the new one
due to the lack of dedicated server support.

The game has a built in advantage of being multi-platform. I'm not
saying its a bad thing, but I wonder how Halo 3 stacked up in
pre-orders even though it was only available on one system.

Halo 2 was the preorder king, really.
