Kars <nob...@nothing.com> brightened my day with his incisive wit when in

Source? Since none of the origins of the English language (Celts, Romans,
Angles, Saxons, Jutes) sound anything like Americans I find this hard to
believe : I'd love to see the facts.

It seems I haven't my "History of the English language" at hand (course
literature from when I studied English at Uppsala University (Sweden)).
Then again, it might have been something a lecturer said, so
unfortunately I can't back up my claim right now :/

Yeah, they're not flash-bombs anymore, they're flash-grenades! Simply
blow the door off its hinges with a shotgun-arrow, toss a flash-grenade
into the room and then storm in and machine-bow the guards in the head.

Stealth gaming at its best.

In other words, all "medieval" games take place in England. ;)

A fact some people seem desperate to ignore. Here's looking at you monkey boy!
Don't need time travel to realise this one was headed the same way that DX:IW
went, even as far back as when IS were advertising for someone with experience
of 3rd person action titles to work on a stealth game.

If that IS the case, I hope the modders go to town on it - guads that
are so tough you're lucky to kill 1, let alone a house full.

Assuming they release the mod tools.

"SpammersDie" <y...@y.yyy> looked up from reading the entrails of the porn
spammer to utter  "The Augury is good, the signs say:

Thief isn't a historical reenactment.  It can have all sorts of "steam
punk" type stuff while remaining internally consistent.

BF1942 is supposed to be historically accurate for equipment so having
m16s, m1-a1 tanks and harriers would not only be anachronistic it would
be non-consistent.

If thief 1, 2 and 3 are all supposed to be in the same city/area, the
voices shouldn't have changed unless there's been an invasion.
