ProDev DDT - More questions
All, After reconfiguring my DDT as a DDT8 (some parts changes, jumper moves and new firmware), it seems alive. When I enter the monitor and type C700G, I get the main debug screen. That's the good news. Bad news is that I cannot really get it to DO anything. Perhaps I'm missing the point, but I would have expected to be able to:... more »

Stolen Laptops - Juststolen.Net
Stolen Laptops Http://[link] This situation is more prevalent than you may think. We estimate that 1 in 6 laptops (Approx. 9,734,935 million) will be stolen in the next 24 months in the US. Register your’s now To compound the problem, even if the police were to find the thief and recover your laptop, they have almost no idea who owns it or how to... more »

IIGS Power supply problems?
Hi all! So I was messing around with my apple IIgs today, and low and behold, it doesn't power up! I mean, sometimes it will, sometimes it won't and sometimes it'll stay on for two seconds and shut off. Is a bum power supply the problem? If so, where can I get a new one (besides ebay)? Is there anyway I can fix the problem on my own?... more »

Computist Archive Update: OCR'd PDFs
Brian Renweth spent many hours working on the PDF's from the DVD I distribute. The files have been re-cropped, color corrected, and (most importantly) OCR'd. The text of every issue is now searchable from within your favorite PDF reader. The new files are slightly larger than the originals and are available for download now from my... more »

newsgroup regurgitation
Why is this echo filled with posts from comp.sys.apple2? I don't know about you, but if I want to read comp.sys.apple2 I'll read it from a usenet feed. If FidoNet users have nothing to say in this echo then so be it. We don't need to it to be a copy of comp.sys.apple2 as that adds no value. Just my... more »

Request for CF Performance Comparisons
I'm sold at using a CF card as my primary "hard disk". No moving parts, and some (though certainly not all) CF cards have almost the same MTBF rating as hard disks. I'm currently using a CFFA setup for my IIgs. What I want to find is how it compares, in terms of performance, with other CF-based setups, assuming that the CF interface is not the... more »

DOS.MASTER VS DOSLauncher 2.2
I have a CFFA card for my Apple IIe from dreher.net. It is great product, does everything as advertised. I have gone down the road of trying to boot some older non-prodos games etc. I am pretty sure, judging by other posts, that I am not alone in doing trying to do this, and hopefully my post will help other newbies. I have followed the... more »
