Hi Folks,
The guy's over at PACE have ported a few of their arcade game machines
to Carte Blanche. This is pretty much a functional copy of the
hardware main board to such games as space invaders, lunar lander,
pacman, galaxian, mooncresta etc but built inside CB's FPGA. The
keyboard and video is connected up and provided by the apple IIe so

I'm trying to replace a printer on a relative's Apple 2e system. It
was an Apollo inkjet printer - a less expensive version of an HP
Deskjet 450(?).
All I need is a character mode printer that works with a parallel card
in slot 1 under Apple DOS. I really would prefer an injket to a dot
matrix or laser printer.

How is the IIgs beep generated?

Some discussion on the Wikipedia page got me wondering: how is the Apple
IIgs beep generated? Some say it is an algorithmically drawn waveform, fed
to the DOC, while others suppose that it is generated by the Ensoniq.
Anyone have the full details?

When I start CiderPress using WINE and Ubuntu Linux I get the

I have 2 Rev. D RAMFasts. Can someone please tell me the difference
between the later ROM revisions? What is the difference between 3.01F
and 3.01-EZ? My EZ appears to have a different main chip (Zilog) than my
other? Can someone shed some light on this?

Applewin causing distorted audio

This morning, while listening to a New York business radio station
via the I'net, I started up Applewin. The station's audio output
became quite distorted and not pleasant to listen to. Exiting
Applewin allowed the audio to return to normal.

Small Carte Blanche disaster

The audio board, CBAV for Carte Blanche, has an interference problem
that may affect the quality of CB's video signal. When playing back
complex sound effects or .WAV's the screen may shimmer. As a result a
new board, CBAVI, has been made, which resides inside the Apple case,
instead of externally and in-line as what the old CBAV board did. Info
