  Well, except that the BBC Micro did not use an ARM - it was 6502 (or &lt;br&gt; 6502+coprocessor) based. The Archimedes was an evolutionary descendant &lt;br&gt; of the Beeb, yes, but &amp;quot;BBC Micro&amp;quot; means either a BBC Model A, Model B &lt;br&gt; or Master.

  The 3.01EZ ROM has a bug in it which is why it was followed up by the &lt;br&gt; 3.01F ROM. The bug is, if I remember correctly one that causes &lt;br&gt; complete data loss with the drive and should not be used. (It seems to &lt;br&gt; me there was one function that caused this in particular but I dont &lt;br&gt; have my notes in front of me.)

  The Apple IIgs beep is actually generated old-school, by triggering &lt;br&gt; the speaker port at $C030. That&#39;s why the Gus emulator had sound &lt;br&gt; resources for the IIgs system beep sound effect; it didn&#39;t emulate the &lt;br&gt; $C030 sound toggle register, so to get the system beep working, they &lt;br&gt; patched the beep routines to play a Mac sound resource file instead.
