Like me, some of you have purchased "XILINX Platform Cable USB - DLC9G" of ebay for programming Carte Blanche. These did not come with the necessary cables that allow connection to XILINX devices like CB. Since the connector needed is a 14way 2mm pitch these cables are harder to come by, especially for us outside the US. I am in the process of getting a quote from a local Brisbane company for some custom cables to be made up. If you are also interested in going this route then please email me.
Hopefully by the end of this week I will have some pricing details.

If the price is reasonable, I'd be interested (though postage from Oz might be a problem... ;-).

Heh, this is why I passed on the eBay cables. And why my CB is still just a VGA adaptor.

Yes please - I would like a few. Making them is killing me.

Wish I had held off.. Ended up paying $40+ to get the Xilinx part from DigiKey. 2x what I paid for the cable itself :-).
I wish I had held off too - but because I simply had to have them, I had no other choice except to pay digikeys $28 bux per cable! And $70 shipping to AUS! Is coarse language allowed in this forum?
I am still waiting on the quote. I don't know if a custom cable is going to be particularly cheap but I want to go this way because it's the shipping cost that puts me off.
For everyone's info I specified the following :- 140mm long seven 22AWG (depending on plug may need 24AWG or thinner) coloured and labelled wires. Female 14way 2mm pitch keyed connector to individual single female 2.54mm pitch connectors.
This was based on the cable (HW-USB-FLYLEADS-G, http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=122-...) from DigiKey. I wanted a cable that was going to be able to do high speed communication if needed. Since Carte Blanche is not going need the high speeds I intend on making an extension ribbon cable so that I can program it without having to open the Apple II case. The extension cable should be quite easy to knock up at home.
Thanks Red for letting me know about DLPC. I have used DLPC before but I didn't know that they stocked these connectors. Let's just hope the custom cables come in at a decent price.

Wouldn't bother with the quote anymore!!
Digilent now seel the fly-lead assembly for $3.95 US!!!

... I cant see the little PCB that adapts the Xilinx DL series JTAG adaptors 2mm header to the 2.54mm header - this is the tricky bit.. unless its terminated with a 2mm female boxed header.. but, cant see it. Need a bit more info.

Says it suits the XUP programmer above it. If you look at the blow-up pic of the programmer it has a 2mm Male socket on it. Fly leads must have a matching header to plug in to it...
Could always email them to check I guess..
Xilinx USB programmers only come with the PCB adapter thingy coz Xilinx were too cheap to buy proper headers...

Great timing - a month after I shell out the big bucks for the Xilinx adapter.
Still, thanks for the update! I'll be set for the next one :-)

When you go to the "Cable above" listing, here is what it says about it's connector.
Connector(s):Micro USB Xilinx 14-pin JTAG connector
Since the cable is compatible with this, then I'd be willing to get it and trust in it. Or, wait until someone who has ordered it tells us that it works. :-)))
I dropped in to the cable manufacturer to see how my quote was going but due to staff shortages it has yet be be completed. I am now expecting to get it this coming Monday.
Looks like you US users have a solution. For the rest of us there is still the postage issue to consider. Once I get the quote I can re- evaluate to see which is going to be best option and collectively we should be able to reduce costs one way or another.

Yes, I ordered the J-TAG portion, and the retractable USB A-B part for my Xilinx Platform Cable Model DLC9LP, that I got from eBay. Pretty good deal from Digilent.
Hopefully, by the time they arrive, I'll have space cleared to set-up my Apple //e and get the Carte Blanche going. One of the first to receive it, and probably the last to set it up. :-((((((
