Straight Talk by Tracfone [Telecom]
|
| |
I have recently come across Straight Talk by Tracfone in my local Wal-Mart store. They are advertising an unlimited everything rate plan for around $45. Since I live in a rural area of Virginia, and my service options are extremely limited, this appeals to me. However, I am leery of purchasing this phone because I can not find a coverage map on their web site nor... more »

I'm looking, sigh, yes, for a "ring tone" [telecom]
|
| |
I was with a group of people and a cell phone "rang". Except it wasn't one of those trendy tunes. It wasn't even the Nokia or t-Mobile default. It sounded just like... just like... a traditional "Bell 500" metal-on-metal clapper bell. (Well, a pretty close facsimile thereof). The owner had no idea where his phone had gotten it.... more »

Inquiry: former AT&T shortwave radiotelephone station in Lawrenceville, NJ
|
| |
I am the Township Historian in Lawrenceville, New Jersey (near Trenton and Princeton). I am in the midst of compiling a history of the former AT&T shortwave transmission facility that operated in our town beginning in 1929. For three decades it was the primary outbound telephone link from the USA to Europe and Latin America. At its peak it could generate one million... more »

Caller ID Device [Telecom]
|
| |
A while back I asked about a device that allows blocking numbers using CID, much like the old Radio Shack CID did. I lost the site address.
