I'm working on the publicity for the Adelaide International Guitar Festival
for next year and we recently announced a competition we're running for
classical guitarists that I thought would be of interest to the members of
the Classical Guitar society in Canberra. I've attached a copy of the media
release here, Slava Grigoryan is the new Artistic Director for this festival

morning and it featured Harold Gretton's 2008 studio recital. Like me, you

The Instrumental competitions will not be held in 2009. They will take
place in 2010, but a date is yet to be finalised. I will let you know when

Tarantella Guitar Ensemble

I'm just writing to let you know that I am currently directing Music For
Everyone's adult classical guitar ensemble 'Tarantella'. The group is
suitable for players over 15 years of age and are at at least AMEB Grade 3
or thereabouts. The group is a very good opportunity to learn ensemble
skills on a week to week basis, and aside from that it's great fun!

SCUNA (the ANU Choral Society) is performing a concert of 16th century
madrigals called Sweet Love Doth Now Invite. Composers include Byrd,
Dowland, Gibbons, Tallis and many more. We are performing on the 26th
September at St Andrews Church. We thought it would be great to include
some lute players in our concert.
