Hi All,
We have just come back from the Coburg Initiative community information
forum.
Cycling did get passing mention as an adjunct to pedestrian precincts but
there were no specific mention of cycle routes or infrastructure in the
concept plan. There is a proposed map of roads none of which are marked as
cycle lane, cycle route, etc. An official representative said that support
for cycling was implied but not clearly shown as such. Also the Upfield
bike path stops where the train goes underground in both directions. Again
it was suggested that all the streets would be cycle friendly so no path was
needed but the streets aren't marked as such.
They are asking for feedback on the concept plan at the moment with the view
of completing the planning by September.

There are other sustainability issues worth looking at as well.
