Hi,
Bicycle Victoria members are now able to vote in the BV board election. I
encourage all members to vote, and everyone else to encourage members to
vote and to think about joining the organisation that works to improve
your riding experience!
I would like your vote!
Here’s why you should vote for me:
* I joined MorelandBUG and Bicycle Victoria and then the BV board to
promote bike riding as a key activity in improving our local and
global environment and our well being.
* BV is a creative and dynamic organisation. It is a privilege to be
able to contribute as a board member. Feedback from my colleagues on
the board and from management is that my participation is valued.
* We have had significant turnover of board members in the last few
years. This has brought fresh ideas and perspectives, but has also
posed challenges. With David Larsen and David Levin’s departures
this year I will be the second longest standing board member if
re-elected (I joined in 2006). I am restanding because I am keen to
continue to be actively involved in BV as a board member, and because
I believe the board needs continuity.
I would appreciate your help.
1. Use your vote! All adult members who were current at 18 September
2009 are entitled to vote for up to 4 candidates.
See candidate statements http://www.bv.com.au/about-us/90756/, or log in
to ‘Blink’ on the BV website to vote. You just need your rider number and
date of birth. Your rider number is on your membership card and the
address page sent with your magazine. Call BV on 03 8636 8888 if you
can’t find it. Voting is open until 30 October 2009, but don’t put it
off!
2. Send an email to friends, colleagues and other contacts – feel free to
forward this email or write your own! Chances are you know members,
through work, study or other connections.
I can be contacted on ruthpater...@mail.com.
Thank you!
