Subject: The East Brunswick shimmy

Just wanted to let you know that we've been successful in our
application for a $160 000 grant for the East Brunswick shimmy. This
brings our bicycle budget to over $1 million this year! The route links
Canning Street to Barrow Street via East Brunswick, and consists of a
variety of treatments including refuges across Brunswick Road and
Glenlyon Street, contraflow lanes, path widening and surface
improvements and wayfinding. I just wanted to thank the BUG for their
support with our submission.

We're going to be riding along the route with staff from the Department
of Transport to clarify some of the treatments and was hoping that one
or two buggees would join us to give some input on the route and various
treatments. The ride is planned for Tuesday 17th November at 2:30pm,
starting from the Canning Street end. If you're interested in coming
along, please let me know.

Kind regards,

Kylie Huard

Subject: Re: [MorelandBUG] The East Brunswick shimmy
Dear all, I sent this to a friend of mine in John St (south of fleming park)  who replied:

"There's also a whole lot of redevelopment planned around us that will
have implicaions for bike paths and public transport. The developers
are looking at over 200 new dwellings and a new 'precinct' with shops
and laneways with cafes, where the tontine factory and Sires now are.
And high rise ..."

This might be something to look at . . .
