Blackout tough it out to start the new season in style NEW
Rob Spit (22-11-06)
Blackout continued their good form with a 128-103 run victory in the opening match of the new season.
Lakemba Physio opened the match cruising to 72 runs at the half way mark and were in the box seat before their good fortune ran out.
After the match, Blackout's Hammer admitted things were starting to get out of reach at that point of time, "For a while I thought if things didn't change we could have been looking down the barrel of 140 runs. We had only taken two wickets until Mark's final over on the Phys's 3rd pair halted their momentum."
With scores of 39, 33 and 29, Blackout's bowlers dominated the final stages of Lakemba Physio's innings to hold the final pair to 2 runs and keep the match in the balance.
Blackout also started their innings in similar style with the 1st two pairs replying with 81 runs. Despite a nervous start by Langy and Hammer, Blackout wrapped up the match with scores of 33, 48, 16 and 31.
Blackout's best were Chris 28 and Col 14 with the bat, and Chris 2/-2, Col 1/6 and Mark 2/9 with the ball.
While the pick of Lakemba Physio was Hanna scoring 18 with the bat, and Hass M taking 2/7 with the ball.
Skins 2-2
Three Stars
3 Col
2 Mark
1 Richo
