Bioenergy Australia 2009
From Opportunity to Implementation
LogoBA (New) Jul 02
Australia’s premier bioenergy conference, Bioenergy Australia 2009 will be held at the Radisson Resort Gold Coast, Queensland from 9 - 10 December 2009 with a Technical Tour on 8 December 2009.

This year’s program will have over 85 presentations covering policies and programs, bioenergy projects and project development case studies and emerging opportunities.  It will also consider many facets of bioenergy, including:
·         Biomass sources and supply aspects
·         Algae and other future feedstocks
·         Heat and power
·         Energy-from-waste
·         Anaerobic digestion and livestock wastes
·         Gasification
·         Pyrolysis bio-oil and sequestration via bio-char
·         First and second generation liquid biofuels
·         Overarching aspects of bioenergy, such as life cycle emissions and sustainability.

This year’s conference will also include sessions provided by international speakers from the International Energy Agency’s Bioenergy program’s Task on Short Rotation Crops for Bioenergy. The program will include substantial coverage of microalgae and will include an extended panel discussion, entitled ‘Bioenergy: From Opportunity to Implementation’ to build on the conference presentations.  There will be a poster session and a trade exhibition.

Our keynote speakers are Dr Göran Berndes, Department of Energy and Environment, Chalmers University, Sweden and Task Leader of IEA Bioenergy Task 30 Short Rotation Crops for Bioenergy and Professor Michael Borowitzka, Algae R&D Centre, Murdoch University, Western Australia.  Well known bioenergy figure, Professor Ralph Sims who has been working at the IEA in Paris will be the dinner speaker.

The conference will bring together biomass feedstock producers and suppliers, waste management organisations, project developers, energy companies, equipment suppliers, investors, government agencies, research and research funding bodies to address factors crucial to the development of bioenergy in Australia.  Last year our conference was attended by over 320 delegates, and we anticipate a good turnout again this year.  The optional technical tour preceding the conference will visit four bioenergy facilities in the region.

The conference Program incorporating the Registration Form is attached.  The Program and Registration is also available online at: http://www.bioenergyaustralia.org <http://www.bioenergyaustralia.org/> .  Alternatively contact Ms Zareena Prinsloo at Conference Action, Tel: (02) 9431 8641, email: bioene...@conferenceaction.com.au.

Hoping you can attend this conference!
