Bioenergy Australia 2009

From Opportunity to Implementation

Expressions of interest are sought from potential paper and poster presenters, sponsors and trade exhibitors

for Australia’s premier bioenergy conference, Bioenergy Australia 2009. The conference will be held at

the Radisson Resort Gold Coast, Queensland from 9 - 10 December 2009 with a Technical Tour on 8

December 2009.

Last year this conference was attended by 325 delegates and we expect an equally high attendance this

year. The program will include a trade exhibition show, technical posters and a tour to bioenergy facilities

in the region.

CONFERENCE THEMES AND TOPICS

This year’s program will cover policies and programs, projects and project development case studies and

emerging opportunities. It will also consider many facets of bioenergy, including over 50 presentations on:

*         Biomass sources and supply aspects

*         First and second generation liquid biofuels

*         Algae and other future feedstocks

*         Pyrolysis bio-oil and bio-char

*         Anaerobic digestion

*         Energy-from-waste

*         Heat and power

*         Overarching aspects of bioenergy, such as life cycle emissions and sustainability.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Professor Göran Berndes, from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, Leader of IEA Bioenergy

Task 30 ‘Short Rotation Crops for Bioenergy Systems’ will provide a keynote address at the conference.

Professor Berndes will also head a session by international participants in Task 30.
