Hi all.
The tropical low east of Cape Wessel has retained a good and intensifying central convective core, this was the same disturbance that passed near Willis Island several days ago. The central convergence still appears rather anomalous although has a more symmetrical appearance this afternoon, should spread some heavy falls along the north coast of the NT overnight....regards Clyve H

  Hi all
Channel 7 have footage about a Nursing Home in Hawkesbury Road at Westmead losing its roof yesterday afternoon.

Does anyone know what happened? We had no wind here at all. Could it have been a result of Clear Air Turbulence.

Judy

In the context of that graph, 'southern Australia' is everything south of 26 S (the NT-SA border). The area which has seen a decline is the southern coastal area, particularly southern Victoria/southeastern SA and southwestern WA. There is a time series for 'south coastal Australia' but it doesn't look like it's accessible via the external website.

  Hi all.
The weak tropical convergence area that was near Willis Island a couple of days ago appears to now be northwest of Weipa and drifting west, there is a defined convergence line that has become better formed over the eastern Gulf west of Weipa, this line appears to be associated with the weak V/Max. The SST's over the northern Gulf are around 30c however the upper air considerations are marginal at the moment for further intensification. regards Clyve H.

I have just found this set of maps - diagrams on The Sydney Morning Herald internet news page. The later pictures show red over the Arctic area. Could this be because of all the ongoing Volcanic activity in all those volcanoes in that area.

[link]

Hi WX friends, The storm system approaching the Western US will be affecting us here in the Great SW. The higher elevations around us can expect snow but here in the Colorado River valley it will remain liquid with stiff winds Monday on into Tuesday AM. There will be some heavy falls in the Rockies! This will be a system to watch as it moves East. Warm regards from Bullhead City, AZ ! Rich...

  Hi All,

I see what looks to be a return to the summer wet season across Cape York.
A weak monsoon trough lies approximately 6*s. We desperately need rain here
in Townsville. Hopefully the heavens will open soon and provide some much
needed rainfall to green up the hills around town.

Regards Shane
