Hey Folks: (11:46PM Sunday)
Well, the rain we've received today (just over 2"/50+mm) assures that we'll end 2008 with above-normal rainfall. According to my records (back to 1984) this is the earliest-ever date (Aug. 10) in a year where the normal yearly rainfall (54.5"/1,384mm) has already been reached/exceeded.
Last Monday we had a high of 102F/38.8C, today with day-long rain/clouds, the temperature hung around the lower-70sF/~22C, making the day feel very "Fall-like".
Good to see that parts of Australia look like a "Winter Wonderland", wish I could be there.
Cheers~~~David Powell
