If the set top box is only a SD model, then it won't pick up the HD channels
Bussy. You'll have to get a HD set top box ($99 at Dick smith atm.how's that
for a shameless plug lol)

I need some help. We have just been connected to ONE HD here which my
digital TV picks up no worries.
My set top box doesn't. Picks up all other digital stations except for the
HD ones. ONE and WIN HD (Demo at present). I don't get what's wrong.
Sorry all, but can anyone steer me right here. Ripping out the last few
strands of my hair.

Hey guys,
A question .... do they, Top box , work for the 'normal' TV as I am thinking of getting one for our older TV. -Our digital TV is in the repair shop (under extended warrenty of course )as it blew a power supply last week!!
Yes they do work on the 'normal channels' and can improve the picture in a major fashion. We had great improvement on our old television, not digital. We then bought a basic set top box for Frank's mothers 1970's TV and it improved the reception and picture with that old TV which is at Katoomba.
Don't go to the expense of buying a fancy digital set top box though, just a basic one will do the job. Sometimes Aldi have the things really cheap.

That's what they're designed for - so normal analogue TVs can display digital TV. However, if your TV doesn't have AV inputs, you will need to either run it through a VCR or buy a TV modulator, since set top boxes don't include the modulator.
