Subject: Nice snowfalls on the Brindabellas Friday July 3rd.

Hi all,
Woke to the sight of a white snowy landscape on the Brindabellas to the west of Canberra this morning.Snow was lying down to the 1,000 metre level but has now risen to 1500 metres with heavy clouds over the summits.I expect as the wind shifts southerly that will be the end of the falls.Wind chill unpleasent to say the least.Rainfalls to 9am;1st=13.8,2nd=1.3 and 3rd 4.1mm.Over 80mm at Mt Ginni on the mountains so should be a nice flow to our dams when the snow melts-currently 42%.
Bet the people on the snowfields must be happy! NSW /ACT School Vac starts at 3.30 pm today.
Gavin,
Gilmore ACT

Hi Gavin

Just under 26 mm here in Duffy out of this July event.  Who knows we might reach our average this month!  Interesting and probably just coincidental how nearly all the rain in recent months has been at night.  I can't remember a year when we've had less frosts to this point than in 2009.  End of random, unconnected observations.
