Not sure what I would call that feature, but it is certainly one of the most complex summer situations I have ever seen.
Unbelievable having a rapidly approaching front with 850Ts of near 20C but a max (so far) of just 23C at Avalon. I notice OZ GFS has considerable rain over southwest and central Vic for the next 24 hours (10-25mm widespread) so could be an interesting evening.

Drove out to Braidwood this afternnoon. Large temperature difference between Canberra and south of Braidwood: 33 and 18 degrees respectively. Storms were nothing to write home about, but apart from the large temp diff b/n two places about 70 km apart, the low cloud fog outflow from the departing showers/storms and the number of clear air CGs were noteworthy .
