Now that the each of the 5 TV networks have all *finally* introduced their second digital channels, it's time for me to rate them on a scale of 1 -10.
ABC 2 ~ There are a couple of good shows that I enjoy on ABC 2: Graham Norton Show and Red Dwarf, there are also, unfortunately alot of boring, dreadful, vapid British shows on the channel ~ to much Pommybastardness, for my liking.
The American shows such as Being Erica and the one with Toni Collette whatsername are quite good. More American programs required to bring the channel up to an acceptable international standard.

SBS 2 ~ Not much worth watching here. Could put some English language news programs from Canada, US, NZ and UK on it, though and make it more successful

GO ! An excellent channel from Nine. Improving all the time. Love Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie ~ could do with some more classic Americana such as Gilligan's Island, Get Smart, The Addams Family, Thunderbirds, Superman, Munsters, etc and it would be evfen better ~!!!!

7 two ~don't like the name much ~ too similar to the main 7 channel. Perhaps call it TIME or OZ or something along those lines. Program wise it's very good, though ~ there is still some Room For Improvement.

But it's not on digital FTA or available on Freeview.
A FTA news channel on Freeview is one suggestion for the commercial neworks to consider, but I understand that ABC is also considering a 24/7 News channel for Freeview.

How can a FTA station compete with a pay tv news channel? Despite what you may think, FTA channels get their income from the advertisers, not the viewers. Pay tv channels get their income from the viewers, not the advertisers. You are trying to compare apples to orangatans. And also unlike you, orangatans have a DNA very similar to humans.
