Have you ever had a look at aus.tv without all the political crap killfiled?

My killfile crashed this morning so all the political crap from the
weekend came through.

No wonder there are no new contributors it looks like a group that died
a long time ago.

Have a look at what you're missing

Yes, I don't killfile anything, as I find it easier to pick the crap
from the headers and just ignore it.

I do killfile and I don't see 90% of that crap. A couple of clicks is all it
takes.

Er, if you do killfile, how do you know what you don't see?  That
simple doesn't make sense.

I resubscribed two days ago and to date have seen about 20 messages come
through.

I use a filter program called Newsproxy. This is my main filter that I use:

Drop * Organization: http://groups.google.com

This means to kill or mark as read at the server, all posts with this header in
them.

When Deja News sold out to Google it meant the end of a particularly good
archiving service. Then Google fucked it even further with its changed search
features and worst of all, the ability for any cockhead to post to Usenet via
Google.

If Google would withdraw this service news servers the world over would breathe
a collective sigh of relief.

And this actually surprises me. I unsubscribed from aus.tv because of the
rubbish that people posted here that had fuck all to do with Aussie TV. It seems
that little has changed. The only on-topic threads seem to be the adverts one.
All of the others are irrelevant (someone with something about a movie, a silly
thread about an alleged pop star).

I'm surprised that these 'contributors' also have had enough. Either that, or
that their work is done if the aim was to piss off people who simply wanted to
chat about the Australian television industry and what products it brings to us.
