Could not handle the physicality of RU where defence is 10x harder than soft cock RL. But he will ok now he has returned to the B grade comp, which even makes Sailor look good. And hopefully the massively overated Lotsa Tiquila joins him, where he can do his usual sideways runs and be labelled a "champion" BigP

Top-posting swine. Let us compare the two codes by means of how fence-jumping players have gone.
Brad Thorn. All Black. Returned to league, where he was an also-ran, and was not missed when he returned to union - and straight back into the All Blacks.
Berrick Barnes. Wallaby. Vice-Captain. Would not be playing State of Origin unless Thurston, Prince, Cronk were all injured. Even longer line-up to play for Australia.
Andrew Walker. Wallaby. Sometimes useful outside back in league but one of the 22 best we had in Union.
Mat Rogers. In league, a winger who choked in rep games. Wallaby standoff. Returns to league where he would never play Origin again even if he was available.
Wendell Sailor. Great League player but despite his complete inability to kick, straight into the Wallaby side. Even lacking a fundamental skill needed by the position, he was still a better prospect than any other winger the ARU might have had to choose from.
Scott Gourley. Say no more.
Need some more examples? ASRL folks care to chip in?

Garrick Morgan, that china doll (5/8?) that the Chooks signed and hardly played a game due to his fragility, and my personal favourite....Tony Darcy. Starting Wallaby prop, Penrith Thirds bench-warmer.

Bit of a history rewrite here. Thorn didn't set the world on fire in attack but he won the defensive player OTY for the Broncs. And a GF.

Utter crap. Only played A-grade for years because err err.

Sure.
Phil Hawthorne. Bob Honan. Mike Cleary. Mark Harris. Mitchell Cox. Michael O'Connor. Ray Price. Rick Stuart. Brad Kennedy.
Since Kennedy's time, basically the union top-liners have been unaffordable. The kids haven't been though. You mentioned one - Cronk.

Brett Papworth would prob'ly break his arm lighting it, poor prick. He really put some work into fucking himself up did that fella.
I suspect he must have angered a vengeful deity in some manner...

Stop ruining the post for the Y's and Z's CP. God only created the earth in 1994 for fuck's sake !!!!

You see, ignorance in all it's glory is displayed so artfully in that statement. Of course the fellow's job description is completely and utterly different in Rugby. At this point I'd usually spell it out for yet another bonheaded creature, but I feel it's time he did some homework. So come on bigmouth, give us your spin on Brad Thorn.........

Loads of an heroes played RU for some stuck up GPS school. The number is too high for anyone to calculate. More than 100.
Here's what I found scribbled on a dunny roll in a Ballymoor shithouse: Brain Smith, Peder Ryan, Willey Carnival, Karbunkel Hun, Peter Jackson (no fag), Josh Graham, The Walters Triplets, Joseph Toomany, Denist Fallanery, Phillip Lee, Mick Viveirs, Antonio Kaufusi, Scott Sattler, sorry had to wipe my arse at this point.

He was fucking great in SOO. He only went to seed when he bleached his hair and toured with the Johns gang.

Another aboriginal hero I can think of is Lote Tortilla. What a party aminal.
The RU did a great job going round the missions rounding up blackfellas in big netting bags, but they went to shit when they tried to ween them off sniffing petrol into snorting charlie. Petrol mightn't be as smooth with the white chicks, but at least it's legal.

Zat Ben Kennedy? O'Connor was the bane of Maroon existence, so I think he'd be the exception to the rule.

Cronk goes all right too, but I daresay he'd be the national captain if he was still playing Union.

Might need to pull you up there, Viper. I was a huge fan of Thorn's before his departure to allblacker pastures and I have a great deal of respect for the man. He was, for mine, the best forward in the game when he left for Union. Fast, aggressive, strong, great defencively and in attack. He returned from union a shadow of his former self. He was not just slow, he was almost too slow for first grade. I was tremendously excited as the prospect of his return, and just as much disappointed by his plodding impotence.
Yes, his role in Union was different, as all forward roles in Union are different to League forward roles. Union forwards move more than 5m only when the ball has been kicked. The rest of the time it's a brief waddle to jump on the ground. Union props could be sumo wrestlers. And this lack of speed has not hampered Thorn one iota. He is straight back into the run-on squad in the world's best rugby team.
Tonie Carroll this year - coming out of retirement unfit - was more effective than Thorn.
