December 16 is 9 days before Christmas (as it was last year!) and people take that "once a year" trip into the city by Public Transport to do their Christmas Shopping.
One would think that this would be an opportunity to impress these passengers and maybe get some return business, but can Mr Connex please tell me how you are going to impress anybody when you run 3 carriage trains during one of the busy times of the year, and have people hanging out the window.
It was really nice Mr Connex when we went past Camberwell Station (and Ringwood...and Bayswater) and saw all those nice trains sitting empty in the sidings, at least I assume they were sitting there...it was quite hard to see anything apart from the armpit of that guy who seems to never wear deodorant (does he follow me around, or is there more than one of them??)
Mr Connex, you have got to do more basic things to get more passengers then paint your trains and give yourself a name change.
(Does anybody know what amount of cost savings they get from running 3 carriage sets, and the reasons they give for doing so?)

It's also a very good time of year to terminate all Burnley Group services at Flinders Street, instead of running around the loop (as is the case on Sunday 17 December).

...the smashed window on my Hitachi on Wednesday afternoon prevented any armpit smell whatsoever funking out the carriage...

Call 131638. Hearing someone say "uh...um, sorry OK" will fix EVERYTHING :)

PS. http://www.connexmelbourne.com.au/ Click FAQs/Contact Connex and have a rant. Let's see if they get back you within 24 hours like they say they will. I'm having a go at them now, and will do Bayside after that.

That also have something to do with people these days prefer to shop at suburban shopping centers(Northland, Doncaster, highpoint, Southland etc) rather then city. Suburban shops mostly are cleaner, brighter and more spacious, and safer.
People also rush into places like Willamstown on the weekend but generally Bayside's Willamstown service are not very well patron. Maybe a through Connex-Bayside train to Willamstown may help?
Maybe a direct Williamstown train from the city would help. Currently you have to change at Newport. Perhaps they should extend back to Williamstown pier, or somewhere else near the action, so you don't have to walk a kilometre to the pier (I mean the passenger pier that's used on weekends).

Along those lines, how about suffering in a non air-conditioned train from Parliament to Boronia last week when it was about 35 degrees while every station we went past that could (i.e. Camberwell (??) and Bayswater) had plenty of air conditioned trains sitting there doing sweet FA.

Those airconditioned trains were probably victims of the heat themselves. Comeng's tend to shit themselves when it's over 30.

Gender: MR Last name: Bowen First name: Daniel Email: dbo...@custard.net.au Comments: Why on earth are you running short weekend trains at Christmas time? Don't you know how overcrowded they get? I just wanted to let you know that I took my kids to Puffing Billy today. I did not use the train; I drove in part because I knew that travelling in your short train would be uncomfortable because of overcrowding. Regards, Daniel ====
I got an e-mail back this afternoon from someone at leoburnett.com.au (no idea who they are; their web site doesn't reveal anything) saying it had been passed to "the appropriate Connex representative".
