Maybe its a speech implodiment. When I worked at Alcatel here they all
understood what it meant. Unlike open confusion at phrases like "prawn
on the barbie", "she'll be right mate" and wanting to put your suitcase
(luggage) in the boot (trunk)...

assembled it
I had happily ex pmg transfrmers for the 50v supply ( you know ohms
law) and some 100v caps for huge filter from some 5kw ups's the rest
was pure $ and time
Now do you have a spare air cap ?

Thanks for the reply although if I read it right they would need
plates out as well , I am running a home made mosfet amp around a 900w
max input > drive dependent so arcing is likely
but perhaps a local cap or supplier will be offered ?

I need a source for a 200 pf or there about's air variable with better
spacing than the unit in service atm which is ex broadcast rx with
plates removed , it simply wont handle the limit so a better unit is
required for the remote tuner
happy to pay a reasonable price if anyone can help

I operated in the CQWW @VK4KW and the signals on ten yesterday were
massive.....
We worked ten right into EU and opening was for at least 5 hours..some JAs
where 9+++
Good signs..Worked about 50 countries on ten and 80 on 15...DXCC in a
weekend !

I was surprised to hear such good signals , I was listening on the
vertical made from curtain rod ( ground mounted) and delighted when he
came back , just goes to show a repaired $80.00 Ts520 and very old SB230
still work :)
He currently is still there on 7.17 give or take
As for 10 metres it might be time to drag out the alloy from the shed ?
