I would appreciate if all you Kangaroo lovers would email me your name and address so I can send you an account for all the crop I have had damaged and eaten by your lovely kangaroos. It is hard enough trying to grow a crop now with the costs involved and also the lack of rain in these parts of NSW without your loving Kangaroos jumping and eating it. You can take heart that the account I will send you will not be as much as it would of been last year as wheat prices have come down from $280 a tonne at farm gate to $170 a tonne. So once again send those names and address in so I can send out the accounts.

Of course you know that Kangaroo retails for about $12 000.00 per ton going by the price in a supermartket I was in on Friday.

How many tonne do you want. I could probably give you a discount if you dont mind a bit of fur in it. I can see a cartoon in this. Picture combine harvester chasing roo's and two cockies on the fence. The caption. " Professor Ross Garnaut said they should harvest Kangaroos instead of running sheep and cattle"

You'd have to upgrade the fences.a bit. I think it's something that will come. cause they're supposedly so much more environmenatlly friendly than cows, sheep and such.
Meantime you can buy plain, minced, or marinated in sealed bags for $7 to $15 a kilo. It's cheaper than T-bone.!
I haven't had much success cooking it but if I ever figure out the 30 secret herbs and spices that make it irresistable, I'll post the recipe here.
In the meantime you might hook up one of those `shoo roo's ' to an air compressor or if things get desperate, do the Somali pirate thing and hold a few as hostages and demand ransom from Peta "or you'll turm those herbivores into pig feed"

PETA Should be turned in to pig feed. Because of these Loonies a lot of merino sheep in Australia are going to die a horrible death due to maggots eating them .

e
But may i ask if you have ever thought of changing crops
i know your bank manager dictates your choices but there is CHANGE coming
Farming camels and kangaroos will replace most grain and grazing enterprises in many areas
May I ask which district you farm and how many acres you " own "
AND if you have a 10 year plan and a 20 year plan and a 100 year plan in place ??
Times ARE changing RAPIDLY mate , the NEXT 100 years will be very different to the LAST 100years
entire NEW cities WILL spring up all over the country and crop choice may be influenced by many things , culling kangaroos and camels may cure your short term problem but not cure your long term position at all
MOST times I see FARMING the Camels and kangaroos as the CURE to most dryland Australian farmers PROBLEMS

The last I heard they were having a rethink over the mulsing protests because someone had spelt the results out to them.
For myself I have tried to breed goats but unfortunately, feral dogs have put that venture on the back burner. I have doctored and dispatched a number of fly blown goats.
