             95 Theses for Atheist Reformation

All belief systems ossify over time.

Jesus taught that Love came before politics and wealth,
but his church pursued the latter.

Mohammed brought revolutionary rights for women, but his
followers wound them back in favour of traditional male privilege.

And atheism, once a tiny and ineffectual offshoot of Greek philosophy
has devolved into a series of dreadful totalitarian tyrannies.

What is required is Reformation.  In religion this is achieved by
progressive revelation..   the Divine CYCLE of revival and rebirth;
             Springtime, Summer, Autumn, Winter

In atheism guidance must come from a lesser source;

The Atheist Reformation Movement    -   ARM

Gentleman,  TO ARMs!

Cry Havoc and Let Slip the Blogs of Reform!

I have heard the call of long suffering atheists tired of
the corruption and violence perpetrated in their name,
who remember when atheism was a simple personal belief,
not a violent and repressive political ideology that has
terrorised, tortured and carried out Mass Murder and Crimes
against humanity in half the world!

I call on all the decent, well meaning atheists to join ARM,
the Atheist Reformation Movement, and purge it of the rabid
and dogmatic fanatics which have seized the movement and made
it anathema to all rational minds and decent folk.

Atheism, if it is to survive, must cease it's historical
association with Mass Murder, torture, terror, repression,
anti-theist persecution and pogrom, mass murder and other Crimes
against Humanity.

It must take stock, become more humble, in accordance with it's
insignificance, morally, intellectually, socially, numerically,
culturally, in Science and politically..  it is after all simply
a belief, unprovable, with no relevance to, or importance to normal
life. The Theists have already created rational secular societies
protecting the freedoms of all.  Atheists must stop being mere whiners,
and barking mongrel dogs.

Perhaps a vow of silence and retreat to a monastery is in their best
interests, as befits a tiny, impotent and irrelevant sub-branch of
Nihilism.

Fasgnadh, as usual, misses the point. No one is arguing that tyranny is
OK, but Fasgnadh is trying to argue that tyranny is purely atheist,
which is false.

> It is irrational and absurd and atheist hypocrites reveal by their
> action they not only understand that a superior, majority religious
> option exists ..   but that THEY ALL CHOOSE To LIVE IN IT!

On the contrary, that majority religious option is irrelevant.

What atheists, and all theists other than those in the majority
religion of a nation, want of their nation is a STRONGLY SECULAR
DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT. Given a STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT,
the incidence of religiousity in that nation is irrelevant.

> WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Don't cry, fasgnadh, just because your false claim has been shot down
again.

The most progressive, open, democratic, rights based nations on the
planet have STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENTS, like Australia,
the USA, European nations, Canada,  etc, etc...

> These nations, products of great and enduring civilisations have
> SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNEMNTS to ENSURE their religious and

And, therefore, are acceptable to those of any faith or none.

> It astonsihes me that the atheists constantly argue that the only
> alternative to atheist tyranny is theocracy.

Since none of them do, but prefer STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC
GOVERNMENTS, Fasgnadh may cease pretending to be astonished.

> The rational alternatives, which atheists vannot bring themselves to

> atheism.. are the STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENTS under which
> even atheists CHOOSE TO LIVE.

Then why is non-theism growing in all those STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC
GOVERNMENTS?

On the contrary, there are several majority religious nations, e.g.,
Iran, that atheists try to avoid precisely because they do not have
STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENTS, but atheists like living under
STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENTS, regardless of the distribution
of religious beliefs within them.

Bottom line: Everyone, except possibly members of a clearly majority

Once having that, the nations distribution of religiousity is quite

to be avoided, regardless of the distribution of religions within them.

You certainly try to ignore that EVERYONE, except possibly members of a

a STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT.

As a criterion for livability, being a MAJORITY RELIGIOUS SOCIETY is irrelevant
to atheists and agnostics, and even to theists unless their own religion is
dominant. What is highly relevant is having a SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT
which protects everyone from unwanted religious pressures.

When have I ever "apologized" for the evils of any dictatorship or
tyranny?

Fasgnadh has often been the apologist for theist tyrannies, seeming to
prefer theism to liberty.

For atheists, as for almost everyone,
the BOTTOM LINE says :EVERYONE, except possibly members of a clearly
majority religion in a nation, prefers his or her nation to have a
STRONGLY SECULAR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT.

Once having that, the nations distribution of religiousity is IRRELEVANT.
