Subject to the maximum weight limit of the motorcycle, yes, you are
allowed to carry a passenger heavier than the rider.

However, it really isn't much fun, unless both rider and pillion are
experienced and co-operative.

It is much easier carrying a smaller pillion.

Dunno I entirely agree with that, sorta.

It depends on the bike and the pillion. The two best pillions I've had
on my bike were Kerry and Cat (RIP). And they were vastly different in
body build. I reckon a lot more comes into being able to just go with
the bike and not fight it. I've been on a VF1000R loaded up so much
with weight in the gearsack and saddlebags and Kerry on the back that
getting out of our hilly street in Chatswood, the front wheel of the
bike was difficult to keep on the ground under medium throttle. Yet
she was pretty much no effect on my riding as I guess she knew somehow
what I was about to do. I could suddenly cane the Blackbird and she'd
just sit there without having to grab onto me. Fucked if I know how.
Strong thighs or something?

Cat I didn't even notice on the back of the budgie. Being a slip of a
girl and happily comfortable, you really didn't notice she was there.

On a small bike I think it would make more difference, but who wants
to ride small bikes?

Size may matter but a red flag attached to the end of the subject (or

Hi Kevin.

Is there, perhaps, some punctuation missing, or is it, as the Thespians
would say, all in the reading?

Yeah.

Am I right in thinking we are in general agreement?

> On a small bike I think it would make more difference, but who wants
> to ride small bikes?
> <waves to Cam>.

Angie and I did a Pink Ribbon Ride on the pink RZ250 once.

Apart from desperate slipping of clutch to get going, and then care
being taken not to wheelie the thing, it wasn't too hard.

OTOH, I once gave a lift to a proper "bikie", a seven foot tall, built
like the proverbial brick dunnie, Hell's Angel.

His H-D was stopped on the freeway due to lack of petrol, and I took him
off the Freeway, he bought petrol and I took him back to his bike.

Now, this was with the Suzi 750 cruiser, and, at the time, my left leg
wasn't working too well, so I'd normally stop with my right foot down to
hold the bike...leaning slightly right.

Anyhow, off I go with this enormous bloke on the back.  No problems up
until we get to the first red traffic light.

I'm trying to get the bike to lean slightly right, so I can get my foot
down, and the big bloke is trying to get it to stay upright, or perhaps
lean slightly left..... :-O

After a few moments of panic the guy on the back just put both of his
feet down, and held the bike vertical!  :-)

I just gotta ask.... Did the HA wear his colours whilst pillioning on the
Suzuki?

There must be some sorta club rule on that.  Maybe I'm mistaken but 1% and
Suzuki don't kinda seem to fit together, or have the Japs become bad ass
during petrol shortages.

Confused

Hmmm, another interesting theory - does a boot up the arse kick-start Human
Growth Hormone? I suspect not - I have boot-prints up the arse (and
glass-prints on the back, hand-prints on the shoulders and the head) - and
I'm still fucken short.

So.... I think your theory's fucked.

Oooh, another possible PhD topic: Does gender have an effect on the efficacy
of kick-starts up the arse? (I fucken hate playing the gender card, but I
wonder if it actually makes a difference in this case????)

Gee you have some thought-provoking theories in your repertoire...

I think the parable has perhaps something to do with the tongue-in-cheek
retort that good kids got all the pats on the head, which kept 'em
stunted...

and conversely the kicks up the backside provided an upward impetus.

Or at least that was the 'conventional' wisdom when I was growing up. :)

Well clearly it didn't matter whether I was good or bad (and believe me, I
was GOOD. Just never bloody GOOD ENOUGH.)

The day I got my HSC result I spoke to my mother and told her my mark, which
was in the top 10 fucken percent of the state. The bitch wanted to know
where I'd fucked up. Gee, maybe something to do with having been chucked out
of home by her drunken fucken boyfriend only a few weeks after I got home
from a year in Japan as an exchange student, and had to spend most of my HSC
year boarding with old people - one of whom was a fucken million-year-old
dirty old man who used to try and get into the bathroom while I was in
