Welcome to the Google Group for
Apsim.
This group is for if you wish to ask members of the Software Engineering Group (SEG), Crop Module Developers, or any other users about Apsim.
Questions such as
- how do I use a particular crop in apsim, or simulate a particular farming management practice
- how the science behind a particular apsim crop module works
- and more general questions such as why doesn't my simulation work or give the result I expect.
To ask/post a question, you will need to join this Group. To do this you will need a Google Account. If you do not have one already, you can easily set one up for free. All you need is an email address (any email address, it does not need to be a Google email account). You will be given the opportunity to create a new google account on the Sign In page for joining this group. To join just click on the "Join this group" link in the panel on the right.
Once you are signed in you can participate in any of the discussions on any of the topics you wish Or create a new post to ask a question.
nb. As part of asking or answering a question you may want to upload files to the group. (eg. simulation files, weather files, toolbox files etc.)
The benefit of using this Google Group for Apsim questions (rather then just emailing us directly) is that it will record both the questions and their solutions online. This will mean that users will be able to quickly search this Group (using the search box at the top of this page) for a solution to their question that may have been asked before by someone else. Allowing the user to find an answer to their question more quickly. For this reason before posting a question you should do a search to see if the question has been asked before. If it has but the solution does not work for you or a solution has not been provided yet, you can make a post under the same discussion topic by clicking the "Reply" link (when viewing the topic) instead of creating a new discussion topic by clicking the "new post" button. You should create a new discussion topic if you have done a search and no one has asked a similar question.
