been on xanax for 19 years; down to 1 mg a day. still have panic and social phobia. new shrink wants me to switch to klonpin 1 mg divided up to two doses. any one have this experience - good or bad? thanks
i take 0.5 mg clonazepam 3x a day just to keep down the background noise. i carry 1-2 mg of alprazolam in my wallet just in case i have a panic attack.
i found that taking only alprazolam was troublesome because it has such a fast onset, lasts a short while, and then drops off precipitously. feels like a roller coaster. clonazepam has a more steady-state feeling and as i said i only use alprazolam for panic.

Hi Budda.
How long you been on benzos? How old are you? i am 49 and on xanax 15 years. I was thinking of doing that -- klonopin for everyday anxiety and xanax for "immediate need."

Only problem is you can't drive legally on this stuff. Klonopin works great for anxiety, but....
Plus all of them are addictive, which isn't so bad, as long as you don't start taking way more than the prescribed amount. Gotta be careful.
