I know there have been many concerns raised here about the use of electric
irrigators such as the Waterpik, due to the possibility of microbes growing
inside the tubing, etc.
I just saw a new one from Interplak that is treated with something called
Microban, which is supposed to inhibit microbial growth. I don't know how

Your reply, potatotree, nor the original post and article, as far as I
noticed, still say nothing about whether there was a control group who
irrigated by the exact same method, with the exact same solution, minus the
baby solution.
If their results were comparing their shampoo irrigators with
non-irrigators, that is absolutely unscientific and meaningless. The baby shampoo irrigation seems to work best for people who have
congestion or a discharge in their sinuses, from what I understand. I
emailed one of the researchers on the baby shampoo study and he
confirmed that it only worked to prevent the formation of biofilms.
Not effective for existing biofilms. As for other biofilm disruptors,

Why do you continue with baby shampoo in your irrigation fluid, if you have
not noticed improvement from it?
I think it is unavoidable when irrigating, that some solution goes down the
throat. Must be pretty yukky to drink soap!

i appreciate all your replies, but they are not to my question. i did
not ask about a CT scan. i said that the doctors were diagnosing me
with inner ear problems due to the results of an ENG indicating a
reduced vestibular problem in the left ear, despite i do not have any
dizziness or vertigo or any other symptoms of inner ear problems.

And
they stay wet inside all the time, a great breeding ground for microbes.
So yes, when I read the article, it seemed like they didn't control for

What if she wants to stop now. Can she stop right away? Or should she
taper?
The dose per spray is around 64 mcg. For the first 3-4 days, she took
2 sprays per nose per day - so that was 256 mcg per day.
Since then it has been 1 spray per nose.
